Hi Richard and Reuti,

Thanks a ton for your valuable inputs. I used the Xvfb to redirect the X output 
to the Virtual framebuffer and it is working fine.

yes, from the point of view of the application it's a fake-X-server. You need 
it on all nodes in the cluster though. The setting of the startup-method which 
I mentioned earlier can be disregarded, as you submit the jobs with `qsub` and 
they run local inside the cluster afterwards.
