Thanks everyone for all the input! Since the recommendation seems to be to stay with our existing (Sun) Grid Engine unless we need to fix a specific bug or have access to a specific feature, and since we don't seem to need to do either of those, I think we will be staying put.
Am I correct that this list will be happy to provide help with our existing system, if need be? i.e. if I have questions or whatever? That seemed to be implied in the recommendations to stay put, but just wanted to be sure. I am also glad to hear that I should be able to upgrade my OS without touching our existing install.
