Hi,

after an extensive internal and external test period, Univa Grid Engine 8.1 is
generally available (http://www.univa.com/products/grid-engine). Try it out
with free trial (http://www.univa.com/resources/univa-grid-engine-trial) or ask
for an extended trial and check out features such as:
Processor core and NUMA memory binding for jobs - enables applications to run
consistently and over 10% faster. Also increases utilization.
Job Classes - describe how applications run in a cluster helping to slash the
time to onboard and manage workflow.
Resource Maps - define how hardware and software resources are ordered and used
in the cluster helping to improve throughput and utilization of the cluster.
Improved Job Debugging and Diagnostics - lets administrators discover issues in
less time.
New support for Postgres database job spooling - balances speed of submission
with reliability in high volume clusters with lots of small jobs.
Documented and tested integrations with common MPI environments - save valuable
time integrating since we already did the work.
If you want to get a deep dive into how to use those features and take a peek
at what other users do with Univa Grid Engine then also consider visiting our
Univa Grid Engine Summit in Regensburg, Germany on Oct 1+2
(http://www.univa.com/resources/grid-engine-evolution-summit-2012). Hurry up to
get a room in the venue hotel. Rooms are blocked out under the reservation code
'Univa' only until end of August.

Hope to see you soon and, if you attend, then consider making some room for a
quick 1.5 hr trip to Munich to the Oktoberfest ;-)

Cheers,

Fritz
