Hi, Prentice.

If this is RHEL-compatible, you will want to map to the desired domain
name in the /etc/mail/domaintable file.  Something like:

login.clustername.rutgers.edu rutgers.edu
login.clustername rutgers.edu

You may need to add the following lines to your sendmail.mc file, too:
FEATURE(domaintable)dnl
MASQUERADE_AS(`rutgers.edu')dnl

Then:
# cd /etc/mail
# make
# service sendmail restart
