Same here. As in, we do use slot ranges; and we've had the scheduler blow up until I turned schedd_job_info off - which cured it; not seen since (and it's been used).

I've not missed it really; qstat -j is now much more readable (and most of the time, it's easy to understand from the request why a job doesn't run), and if the detailed job scheduling info's needed, the qalter '-w v' works just fine.

Yep, we use slot ranges for both PE jobs and array jobs. The more complex
the job request, the more likely it was that sge_qmaster would explode.

The generated scripts themselves look like reasonable job scripts.
The only twist is using our threaded parallel environment and
asking for a range of slots. An example job is:

I hit the same thing -- see
<http://gridengine.org/pipermail/users/2014-March/007237.html> and
the thread that follows as well as the bug referenced in that thread
at <https://arc.liv.ac.uk/trac/SGE/ticket/1409>. AFAIK, this isn't
fixed anywhere yet.

To the other folks who responded, does turning off schedd_job_info
specifically allow one to submit jobs with slot ranges in the PE
request? I'm also a big fan of schedd_job_info, but I'm a bigger fan
of my scheduler not blowing up.
