Yes, that is the "workaround" we are using.

What I need to know is how to tell grid engine that the DEFAULT queue is the "normal" queue

There's no built-in concept of a "default" queue. Jobs will go wherever
they are permitted to run, either by policy (ACLs, resources) or usage
(load average, resource availablity).

Thanks Dan

I have over 30 users, which I need to have it

Hi,

You can add the default queue request: -q normal in </sge/_/root/>/</cell/>//common///sge/_/request/

   Hello,

I have a newly installed grid engine, with about 1200 slots (cores).
I have two users with jobs right now, one user has 30 jobs active
and about 500 queued up in pending.
Yet my grid engine is 99% idle.

The user states she is not specifying a queue. But it is sending
all jobs to my "high cpu" queue that only has 30 slots. My normal
   queue has 1200 slots.

how do I change the "default" queue if they do not specify "qsub
   -q normal ..."

   Thanks
