Hallo to distinguished forum members,

I hope you can assist me.

We have 4x nodes from general SGE pool (~300 nodes) that can access hardware
which has 300 consumable attributes - each can be consumed no more than 1
simultaneously.

Users would like to be able to submit jobs which can consume many different
types of these attributes simultaneously but each no more than once. (1 in
total per particular consumable attribute in cluster).

We are looking for best practices configuration for SGE to be able doing the
following:

1. Capture/Consume resource by using qsub/qrsh.

2. Free resource on job completion / termination by admin (this probably
should be a default behavior)

3. Poll resource status from SGE (quota facility?) - to understand which
job/user holds consumable attributes.

Should we use 300 consumable resources as global?
What type should be used for these resources: BOOLEAN or INT?

Is a separate queue should be used for these hosts and assign those 300
attributes there via complex?

How do we properly configure quota facility for this kind of use case for
tracing/limiting the utilization of the resources?

What are more efficient ways of defining such configuration?

Any tips on the implementation, will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
