Thanks a lot for that. I will just write this for others especially beginners to Linux/Apache.
I tried to do apachectl from the the prompt and i got "command not found". Then after you sent me an email, i remembered that i need to do /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl configtest. That told exactly where my problem was lying and i have just fixed it.
