Fine. But now you've added mod_proxy_http instead of
mod_proxy_connect...

All the OP asked for was to proxy HTTPS requests. The minimal solution
for that is mod_proxy and mod_proxy_connect so that the proxy server
just routes the traffic via the CONNECT method without doing any
decryption itself.

No big deal - do whatever you fancy...
