I think, (you may wish to check this), that if Tomcat is sending the resulting pages via 302 redirects then it's instructing the browser to make a new request, for the .jsp. When the browser does this any limitations you've put in place will prevent the page from loading.

If your Struts app is doing 'forwards' then the direction is internal to Tomcat, and the results are sent back under the same URL as the request.


If it's the former case, then you will struggle to block JSPs without disabling your application.

In the case of the login URL, the app will probably catch direct access to the page and force a login anyway if your security is set up right in Tomcat. If you can direct access the JSP without logging in, your security is broken.

i'm not sure i understand what you're asking then.

if URLs for your JSPs will always be served through your mod_jk mapping,

why do you need to block them? Blocking them would mean not serving them at all, no?
