Could someone explain why the CacheRoot on a front end proxy server (httpd-2.2.4, windows 2003) is filling up with so many files like aptmpZzwkBP at the root level? My understanding of the docs is that this shouldn't happen: "The overall aim of this technique [CacheDirLevels & CacheDirLength] is to reduce the number of subdirectories or files that may be in a particular directory, as most file-systems slow down as this number increases." - http://httpd.apache.org/docs/trunk/caching.html
