worker is the multi-threaded and you only need smaller number of processes
for the same amount of traffic. Each process has a bunch of threads which
share a connection pool for backend storage like mysql or ldap. The
connections in the pool can be re-used which save the cost of establishing
and destroying these connections. This is a big performance improvement if
put on a busy server.
