[users@httpd] Any replacement of mod_proxy?

Hi,
 
We have used mod_proxy in our project for configuring proxy server
between TCP client and TCP server. But, mod_proxy has not been able to
forward the complete client data to the server.
 
I think it is a bug with mod_proxy. We have another option called
mod_athena. In that also it did not work.
 
Is there any replacement of mod_proxy in Apache?
