Thanks for the help. The DNS alias is properly set for the download-devbrass2, it is listed as a CNAME for devbrass2. When you said "Are you sure the DNS alias is properly set for the download domain?, did you just mean that I needed to register the download-devbrass2 as a . If so, yes, I did. The access log for devbrass2 and download-devbrass2 are working. They have stuff in them. I did a global grep on the directories /subdirectories declared in DocumentRoot and no .htaccess file has been found.
