If you get “Host not found” for localhost, you should fix your /etc/hosts. You also may have to unset http_proxy and related variables, if you have them in your environment. Rainer Thanks for the reply. At the moment "localhost" is set in the /etc/hosts file. Nothing is set for http_proxy. SetEnv not set in any of the configs nor is there any export for System / Apache variables. The localhost DNS works if "localhost" is pinged, so all in all, this should work but doesn't.
