Folks,
Not sure if this question belongs on this list or
not, but here goes.
These two RFC documents both descirbe a methods for
automatic
host configuration. RFC-2461 describes neighbor
discovery and
RFC-2462 describes stateless autoconfiguration.
Do IPv6 host use both of these methods to
auto-configure, or is
one method preferable over the other? For example,
I have two
Windows host PC's and one Linux PC on a network,
and they
all can communicate with each other simply by
enabling IPv6
on each host.
What is running here, RFC-2461 or
RFC-2462?
