i suppose you are using glibc 2.3.2, as glibc 2.6.2 ahs not been released
yet ;-)
however, on your system, when you bind(2) to :: you automatically bind to
0.0.0.0, too. if this is not the behaviour you want, you have to set the
IPV6_V6ONLY option on the PF_INET6 socket BEFORE you call bind(2).
