Looking through the jackrabbit documentation to attempt to confirm that jackrabbit will use multi-cores if available on a machine. I’ve seen some configuration information for search that implies to me that it does, but have found nothing specific. Can someone confirm this for me? If so, are there any configuration, settings that would help take advantage of this?
As Alex already pointed out in his reply, Jackrabbit's unit of parallelisation is the Session. In this way the level of parallelisation is driven by how an application spreads sessions across threads. While this is true for Jackrabbit 2 and Jackrabbit Oak in general, Oak does a better job here as it takes session isolation further narrowing down possible contention points.
