Hi Claus, hi all,

it's been a while... I'm sorry 😊

Said that Jackrabbit datastore GC is interruptible, I would like to ask you a
suggestion about how to do it.

In my application I'm usually run runtime code via libraries like "Janino
compiler", so for example datastore GC too is a task I can run runtime while
the application is running and users use it, in test environment I run it in
this way but I have no way to interrupt a similar execution, I mean I cannot
press ctrl+c to stop execution...

So in your opinion, what pattern should I use to interrupt the datastore GC,
that it could be either in the mark step or in the sweep step? Are they both
interruptible I suppose.

I think datastore GC should be run during "user sleeping time", at least in my
scenario where I have a 40G default_bundle table.

Thanks again, regards

Hi ..

Yes you can interrupt the datastore gc any time. It marks only the last access
timestamp and at the end it removes all files that where not "touched".

Oggetto: Interruption of Datastore GC

Hi all,

I'm on Jackrabbit 2.14.0, would it be possible to interrupt a datastore GC?

I'm using a FileDataStore and datastore is more than 1T, we can choose to run
datastore GC (so mark and sweep steps), we would like to know if it's possible
interrupt this task once activated and even if it's safe interrupt it.

Are there difference between 2.14.0 and 2.16.0 in datastore GC?

Thanks in advance, best regards
