Hi,
I am part of a company who have developed a GSM network simulator for
testing data services and SMS directed to mobile handsets without the use of
a live GSM network.

For some time we have been using Kannel internally, and recommending it to
our customers, for testing WAP enabled handsets in conjunction with our
product.

We are seeing an increasing amount of interest in the support of Multimedia
Messaging Services (MMS).

I understand that MMS uses WSP to encapsulate PDUs for transmission to /
from its proxy relay, which then forwards the request as HTTP in a similar
way to a WAP gateway. I tried effectively using Kannel against an MMS
capable phone and got the following error from Kannel:

WTP_RESP: no sar implemented

I haven't had a chance to look into the differences between WAP and MMS at
this level, and what might be missing in Kannel for MMS to be supported.
Before I do so I thought I would mention this and see if the Kannel team, or
anyone else, have an interest in supporting MMS or have experimented with it
using Kannel.

I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has any thoughts on this matter.

Best Regards

Kevin Wood
