Hi again.

This is what my log looks like:

2003-01-08 11:10:49 [8] ERROR: AT2[JMAIL]: CMS ERROR: +CMS ERROR: 321
2003-01-08 11:15:43 [2] ERROR: Error reading from fd 36:
2003-01-08 11:15:43 [2] ERROR: System error 104: Connection reset by peer
2003-01-08 11:16:11 [2] ERROR: Error reading from fd 36:
2003-01-08 11:16:11 [2] ERROR: System error 104: Connection reset by peer
2003-01-08 11:59:28 [8] ERROR: AT2[JMAIL]: CMS ERROR: +CMS ERROR: 111
2003-01-08 11:59:58 [8] ERROR: AT2[JMAIL]: CMS ERROR: +CMS ERROR: 111
2003-01-08 12:41:38 [8] ERROR: AT2[JMAIL]: CMS ERROR: +CMS ERROR: 301
2003-01-08 14:49:51 [8] ERROR: AT2[JMAIL]: CMS ERROR: +CMS ERROR: 300
2003-01-08 15:13:37 [2] ERROR: Error reading from fd 36:
2003-01-08 15:13:37 [2] ERROR: System error 104: Connection reset by peer

I don't know if the CMS Errors are linked to the System errors?

From the Nokia 22 manual, the codes mean:

111 RP layer cause value from the network
301 SMS interface is reserved by some other application
300 Not listed in docs.
321 Memory location does not exist

I have no idea what the first one means, and I don't know
which other application could be using the SMS interface.

I am using sim buffering - that might have something to do with
error # 321?

Cheers

Scott

Hi Dave.

I'm afraid your guess is as good as mine:-(

I also did not get these errors during testing etc, they seemed
to pop up after kannel was put under some stress, and now it persists.

Who knows...

Cheers

Scott

Hi Scott.

Thanks for the reply.
I've had kannel running connected to the SMSC since early December, but have
only put it into production yesterday. There were no 'Connection reset'
messages in between when I stopped testing and when I came back from
vacation, so I'm thinking that the messages might have something to do with
my application not disconnecting from the smsbox, or the smsbox not
disconnecting from the bearerbox correctly now and again.. Don't know
really - just a guess..

Dave.

Hi there.

This is not much help, but I thought to let you know
that I also receive the exact same errors in my log file.

I've done extensive searching on the web as well as emailed this
list asking for comment/help, all without resolving this issue.

If you figure it out, please let me know.

Thanks

Scott

Hi there.
I'm running Kannel 1.2.1 on RedHat 7.2, connecting to an SMSC (well
two -

one real and one fake). I'm receiving these error messages randomly in
the

kannel log file:

2003-01-07 19:14:33 [2] ERROR: Error reading from fd 36:
2003-01-07 19:14:33 [2] ERROR: System error 104: Connection reset by
peer

Any ideas?

Thanks.
David Tully
