For question 1.... How are you trying to do it, via rpm or source? If
source, what compile options are you using and what errors are you getting
back?

Cheers - Bill.

Subject: Redhat 9 - kannel - sms

Hello, my name is Jarl

Sorry to bother if these are stupid questions, however I've really looked
around and read all manuals etc...

1.
Is it possible to install Kannel on Redhat 9? I've tried desperatly... (have
Redhat 9 i386 with all possible installed thigns from the cd + all latest
updates etc...)
If so is there anything special I have to do to make it work?
(Have tried a lot)
If not, what's the best version of linux to be running kannel in?

2.
Say I get it properly installed, I've read about the sms section (which I'm
most interested in), how would I go about sending sms without buying a gsm
modem or using a phone? (I've read it would be possible to use 'someone
elses' (a company or so..) with some kind of adress or whatever so I can
still send free sms... is it true..? Where would I have to look for this...?
(said in the manual that it would be in there but I couldn't see anything
like it...

3.
If anyone want to give me some useful tips I might need (or things you can
tell I really haven't understood) I'd be very grateful.
I really want to learn how to use kannel properly and I'm not about to give
up, as this would be very useful to my 3rd year project.

Thank you,
Jarl
