Reconciling Messages from SMPP later

Hi,

I need to reconcile(append status) for SMS'es sent through a SMPP
connection(without delivery reports on SMPP). 
Can someone point me to the right direction as to how to that.
I can think of the SMSC's MessageID's for using to reconcile. 
How can I store the SMSC MessageID's from the synchronous response to
submit_sm.
Is it possible through MySQL DLR mechanism.
