Is it that not all network providers offer email to SMS? Is this why the SMSC route is preferred (per credit use)? I mean why would application service providers make people pay for credits to send application to SMS messages rather than just allow their users to use email to SMS? Or why would users use an application that charges for credits, over one that offers email to SMS (which is free in North America, not sure about Europe)?
