Hi Hafez,

No, the problem has yet not solved. I have searched the net but there was no
solution to it.

Actually, as per SMPP Protocol, the SMSC can send the long message in 2
formats to the ESME (kannel in our case)

1. Long message information in Separate UDH with the message body
2. Or, Long message information in "SAR " parameter which are in the
message body as "additional Parameter"

Now, there is a patch for the 1st format, which can be applied to kannel.
After that, kannel will assemble the long message after combining all the
parts and deliver it to the application.

But in 2nd scenario, there is no solution ( at least I haven't found till
now)

Hope this will help

Regards,

Ashwani Kumar

Hi Everyone,

I am using kannel 1.4.1 on a centOS system. The operator which whom I am
connecting is sending the long message information in SAR parameter of SMPP
Protocol.

Can kannel use these parameter to combine the segment of long sms into one
single Long SMS and then forward to the programming file?

Here are the Bearerbox logs

2007-07-26 17:00:22 [5138] [6] DEBUG: sar_msg_ref_num: 14 = 0x0000000e

2007-07-26 17:00:22 [5138] [6] DEBUG: sar_total_segments: 2 = 0x00000002

2007-07-26 17:00:22 [5138] [6] DEBUG: sar_segment_seqnum: 1 = 0x00000001

Thanks in advance
