Hi,

You can see a list of tested and tried modems in modems.conf. However, there is
so much configuration that you can use, that with a bit of effort, I believe
you can make your N80 happy. Maybe someone in the list has first experience
with it.

Modem)

  Thanks Nikos,

Now I know the configuration for receiving SMS.

But it looks like the GSM modem (Nokia N80) doesn't support the AT+CPMS
command neither. (ERROR)

Which kind of GSM modems are used suitablly for Kannel?

  Pai

    Hi,

Several GSM modems, have a mode for buffering messages. You have to enable
sim-buffering in smsc configuration and set memory-storage in modem
configuration.

Please see User's Guide for more.

      hello,

Now I get a problem for receiving incoming SMS.

Because the Nokia N80 doesn't support AT+CNMI command, i use another AT
command as init-string. So the SMS center works with sending SMS.

Now I want to test the SMS receiving, but after the Nokia gets the new
SMS on device, I can't see the SMS incoming on Kannel:

      under http://127.0.0.1:13000/status?password0bar
      SMS: received 0 (0 queued), send ........

So my question is, if the GSM modem doesn't support AT+CNMI, what is the
limit for using kannel? And does the problem here cause by GSM modem or by
configuring of Kannel?

      Thanks

      regards

      Pai
