The settings for gprs are similar to the ones that you use for dial-up. Your mobile operator charges you for any data traffic. But usually gprs is a lot cheaper than CSD (dial-up). Just enter the ip address of your Kannel instance in your WAP gateway settings. I think that should do the trick.
