you can use this http://pastebin.com/MssJKJER as  /etc/init.d/kannel script

paste into  /etc/init.d/kannel content in the link and do chmod +x
/etc/init.d/kannel

after that create /etc/default/kannel with this content:

START_SMSBOX=1

to start kannel:
$ /etc/init.d/kannel start

to add it to the boot sequence:
$ sudo update-rc.d kannel enable

if you're using sqlbox or anything else this script might need few
modifications.
