Thanks Albert! That was the problem.
I had to set
    net.ipv4.conf.default.rp_filter=0
    net.ipv4.conf.all.rp_filter=0
    net.ipv4.ip_forward=1
    net.ipv6.conf.all.forwarding=1
in /etc/sysctl.conf and restart, as changing those values during
runtime did not make a difference.

Congratulations on the new release! I am eager to test multihoming.
