A general suggestion,
If you are using Release 1.4,
1) Follow the steps mentioned in
http://list.opensaf.org/archives/users/2007-November/000627.html
2) Apply the patch in
http://list.opensaf.org/archives/users/2007-December/000671.html
, to stay away from a couple of issues.
Regards,
Mathi.

Subject: Re: [Users] Stability issues on Debian while using
OpenSAF
Hello Srikanth,
I havent come across problems on debian systems as such, but
Could you be specific about the problem pls.
The system reboots either by NID or by the AVSV service. NID
triggers a reboot if the services just won'tcome up at all repeatedly.
In the case if AVSV triggered a reboot, it could be because
of a faullt that occurred in the system, after opensaf started
successfully once.
In your case, If you doubt there is a problem with the TIPC,
you could check the mdslog or see the /var/log/messages to get a hint of
the issue.
Also, pls make sure you use the proper TIPC header file for
compiling opensaf. Instructions on which tipc.h to use for which kernel
version
is provided in TIPC's readme file clearly.
If you still arent able to get through, you could use the
"collect_logs.sh" script in /opt/opensaf/controller/scripts directory
and send the logs.
Regards,
Mathivanan.

Subject: Stability issues on Debian while using
OpenSAF
Hi Gudipalli,
Also can you please let us know if OpenSAF can
be run without any issues in Debian Linux systems? Please let us know as
we are facing some stability issues while OpenSAF services on a Debian
Linux with 2.6.18 kernel. The system seems to reboot because of some
TIPC kernel modules part of the OpenSAF.
Thanks,
Srikanth
