I can not get Chirp to work with anything. I have a RT Systems USB-57A
cable and the TYT cable that came with the radio. I am aware of the
problem with bootleg Prolific hips for the TYT cable, and have installed
the appropriate driver from:
https://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_Drivers.php#install
I am using a computer with an Asus ROG Strix B365F motherboard that dual
boots Windows 10 and PCLinuxOS Debian Edition. I have tried known
working USB ports on both the back and front of the computer. I have
also tried an HP laptop running Windows 11 with the FT60R. Just for the
record, I have also tried an extremely old copy or RT Systems ADMS-1E in
Windows with the VX5R, and FT60 Commander, and the free TYT software for
the UV8000D. On the FT60R and VX5R, after trying to read from the
radios, I get a "Clone Error" on the radio display. When trying to read
from the UV8000D, it appears to start, but the progress bar never goes
beyond 0%.
My primary need is getting the TYT UV8000D programmed because that thing
is impossible to program with the keypad.
Knowing that my problem is not just with Chirp on Windows 10, 11 and
Linux, but also with other software, does anyone have some ideas to try
other that buying RT Systems software and cables?
Thank you,
