Hi Jeffrey, I did it with and without sudo. I followed the commands exactly as they are on the chirp install page. In fact, I copied and pasted them in an SSH session. Thanks.

On my system I installed chirp as the user and did not use that option you show. "$ pipx install ./chirp-20250801/chirp-20250801-python3-none-any.whl" should work as it would install chirp under ~/.local/lib/python3.XX/site-packages instead of trying to install it under /usr/lib/python3.XX/site-packages. Realistically a user should never install packages using pip or pipx as a system-wide app since some of the modules may interfere with or overwrite those from the installed python version.
