I did a quick lookup because I know that for the FT-65, Yaesu has stated that using CHIRP can cause irreversible and undesirable changes, and may even void the warranty. I searched specifically for the VXA-700 and came up with the following summary, which you may want to review and vet with people who know more about this particular radio:
The VXA-700 is a specialized airband transceiver, not an amateur band radio. CHIRP does not officially support this model. Using unsupported software like CHIRP can lead to errors or even “bricking” the radio. Yaesu’s own software or RT Systems are the recommended programming options. The official manual and manufacturer support are the best resources for safe programming. > On Oct 5, 2025, at 7:16 AM, Mike Berlin via Users > <[email protected]> wrote: > > Yaesu/Vertex VXA-700 _______________________________________________ Users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.chirpmyradio.com/postorius/lists/users.lists.chirpmyradio.com To unsubscribe, send an email to [email protected] To report this email as off-topic, please email [email protected] List archives: https://lists.chirpmyradio.com/hyperkitty/list/[email protected]/
