For a while now, i wanted to compile mplayer from a particular repo and
with ffmpeg-mt branch so that i can play HD videos smoothly and also to
use both cores of cpu simultaneously in my i686 box. But i was getting
compilation error all the time. Googling i realised it was because of
ffmpeg's fast development pace because the people who were able to
successfully compile , weren't able to successfully compile again after
few hours on the same day when ffmpeg pushed out some commits. After
going through the git presentations. a thought occurred to me to apply
rollback to ffmpeg to revert to one particular commit which some guy was
ble to compile and blogged about it. So i went ahead with it and voila
!, it compiled successfully. Now i am playing 720p videos without any
choppiness or lag between audio-video.
