The Institute for Open Technologies and Applications, IOTA [1] has
come up with a software/applications DVD for Fedora 12(32 bit) and
Ubuntu 9.10.(32-bit)
The DVD contains all the commonly-used audio/video codecs and
applications and updates and can be installed offline.

IOTA has put up a stall at Mukti'10, [2] organised by the GNU/Linux
Users Group, NIT-DGP. The DVDs are available at the stall, priced at
Rs. 80/- per dvd. Additionally, you also get a Fedora 12 (32 bit) DVD
or a Ubuntu 9.10 DVD free of cost with the software DVD. Also, the
Fedora 12 and Ubuntu 9.10 DVDs are also available at a cost of Rs.
15/- per disc.

The software DVD being made available as a completely offline setup is
a very good initiative taken by the IOTA and IMO, it would be quite
beneficial to users here in Durgapur, especially students, who often
rue the lack of proper internet connnectivity as a bottleneck. The
stall will be up till tomorrow. And so, it would be good if this
message is passed on to colleagues, friends, other UGs and colleges,
such that no one suffers because of the lack of information.
