Yea, I use lftp to sync my web site that is ftp
updateable. I keep the script that runs the update
(and has the passwords built into it) on an encrypted
partition, so I can mount my secure partition and
run the update script without leaving the passwords
around in plain text anywhere (or having to type them
in every time I want to update).

Just be aware that lftp is a lot weirder to use
than ftp - it takes a bit of getting used to before
you figure out the way the commands work.
