Unable to make wodim record at 2X, even with driveropts=forcespeed:

wodim -v dev=/dev/dvd speed=2 deriveropts=focespeed,audiomaster

but it continues ... and reports it is recording at 8.5x.

Any info on this?
Is the hardware capable of writing at 2x? I think newer hardware can
read at multiple speeds, but can't write at low speeds. I vaguely
recall having the same problem the last time I burned a disk, except I
think it was 4x it wouldn't go below.

But maybe it's a bug in wodim. You could get growisofs in dvd+rw-tools
package, and try it instead.
Another blog I recall reading said it has to do with what the Medium
informs the drive the speeds it is capable of being written to.
