OK.... FWIW, the HD on my old Acer Aspire 5920 decided to go belly-up. So, I acquired a Crucial MX300 275GB drive and did a fresh install from a KDE Live USB image. No problems to install or use. -- Fedora Users List - The place to go to speculate endlessly
