Hello, I noticed this problem after kernel update of 4.14.14. Before the update CPU temp would stay somewhere in 38-48 degrees zone. Since the update however, only when laptop's battery is charging(and I'm using it at the same time) CPU temp gets as high as 60-70 degrees and it eventually causes a crash which forces me to restart.
NOTE: I'm not saying this issue is related to the kernel update I'm just saying I noticed it after the update only. My machine: Asus UX301ne laptop CPU: intel Corei7 6500 skylake 2.5GHz Graphics: Intel HD graphics + Nvidia GTX 950m How I tried to solve the problem: Firstly I noticed that when plugged in and charging, Opening up the gnome-settings and clicking on "Details" causes a crash that forces me to restart. I don't know how I can find any info on why that happens. Secondly I think this is somehow related to my hybrid cards and the open-source driver of NVIDIA. Also possibly PRIME. I do not know how I can check this unfortunately. Also Fans Work fine. They go 5400rpm when I plug the charger in. I should say that I don't need the NVIDIA graphics at all! Intel would do... So if there is a way to disable NVIDIA and get rid of this problem It would be allright. Also if possible I would like to avoid non-free drivers. Any help and/or clue would be greatly appreciated.
