A few more notes... This problem occurs much more often with two e-mail addresses than with my other four, but I see no further pattern. The problem has been occurring for many weeks. It's now taking more like 6 to 10 tries before it finally downloads the folder structure and message headers successfully (though v-e-r-y slowly).
