Hello everyone.

Recently I bought and AMD Radeon 570 card and was eager to test built in
Linux drivers on Fedora 30. While they work, card is behaving really
strange. As soon as it hits around 100% GPU usage, even for a brief
moment (which is exactly the moment gdm starts), it resets itself and
display artifacts on the screen. System works and I can ssh into it
without any problem, or switch into local text console.

The only way to keep it from those resets is
echo 'low'
> /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_dpm_force_performance_level
in text mode before isolate graphical target. Default value is "auto".

It's not preventing the crashes, they happens from time to time, but
the screen goes black immediately, so I thinks it's unrelated problem.

The card is not overheating, it's max around 50 degrees Celsius and both
fans are spinning fine.

Anyone of You have heard of resetting AMD cards? They could be easily
identified by the line in journald:
amdgpu 0000:01:00.0: GPU reset begin!
but the reset is never completed successfully. It can be easily
misinterpreted as hard system crash, because nothing happens on the
display, but it's not. Only something related to the GPU in broken.

I asked AMD support, but they suggested checking it on Windows 10,
which I don't have. I really want to debug this for Linux, but I don't
know where to look.

If You have Radeon 570, or know someone who has it, please let me know
if You have, or have not any problems. As far as I know for now, my card
may be physically broken.

thanks in advance
