        I don't know enough to tell how similar or dissimilar my hardware 
is, but here's a dumb hunch. Try waving your mouse WAY around. When I 
have two monitors active at once, what governs most things seems to be 
where the mouse cursor is, and a long wave will shift it from either 
monitor to the other.
