I've been using them for nextcloud (open source cloud server - it has "apps"
and can also be
used via web browsers) and openhab (home automation system, I'm really only
using it
to turn my porch light on and off based on sunset and sunrise, and to remotely
control one wifi switch :) )

They've pretty much "just worked" so far, though the apps I'm using so far are
difficult to configure and even use, and then as with all of these more complex
solutions there are probably security holes in them.

I was trying to figure out details of how snaps work, but didn't get far.
Generally
they just seem like lighter weight containers (or maybe more like a system
where all
the containers are based on the same underlying distro) - and that's a good
thing.

The apps I'm using are auto-updating and that makes me a bit nervous, as I'm not
sure when it's updating and how that affects things - it seems to keep two
copies
of each, and then use the latest.

I'd like to try out a web server and other apps to have better security on my
"home" server. I don't see any apache snaps.
