First there is no need to copy a service to make a small modification.
You can use a override file. This is what systemctl edit <service> will setup 
for you.

Then in the override file you would just need two lines.
The section header and the attribute you want to override.

[Timer]
RandomizedDelaySec=2h

After you made the change did you do systemctl daemon-reload?
You can check what is being used live with systemctl list-timers.
