I have seen slow startup (using zsh) with conda initialization and old zsh
autocompletion.
in .zshrc.

You can try temporarily swapping `.profile`, `.bash_profile`, and `bashrc`
with those from
a newly created account to see if the slowdown moves with one of those
files.
