I was finding that X11 was less stable then wayland recently. It seems that some update made plasma unstable. There are kde plasma and nvidia update happening at the same time. I'm trying to report the issues and figure out which of the nvidia drivers and kde is at fault. I have downgraded to the 535 nvidia drivers and that sort of helped. But what seems to be helping is downgrading kde. Do thing improve for you if you do dnf downgrade kde-wayland? Yes I noticed you are on X11 - but see if this helps. If it does please follow up here. Also report what version of nvidia drivers your using please.
