For raw/line printer use, you could try:
Checking if the device shows up in lpinfo -v [redacted url]
Using the GitHub driver Samuel linked (zj-58) or similar projects
Printing directly via cat file.txt > /dev/usb/lp0 if the device node exists, or
/dev/usb/... through libusb
It’s often just about finding the right backend that still works with your
model without relying on the old kernel module.
A really annoying use of AI. It might actually even be useful
information, although it's replying to an 8 year old post. I'm still
using that printer.
