Correct.
The man page says:
-x, --exclude=package
Exclude a specific package by name or glob from
updates on all repositories.
Configuration Option: exclude
When using the -x, the = sign is obviated (and so I had used it
incorrectly).
So a series of -x pkg1 -x pkg2 .... -x pkgN would be the same as
--exclude=pkg1 --exclude=pkg2 ...etc.
As I said, when I had used -x=pkgname syntax, yum did not complain
at all, which I think it should have; unless it is an undocumented
feature??
