On Fedora I didn't have any errors until it did the ~380 updates. Then it wouldn't boot, but instead gave error: "GPU lockup - switching to software fbcon" and then wouldn't go past a line that mentions verion 4.0 of something, or something like that.
As you mentioned you have a GTX560 Ti, I checked the Nouveau pages for information on how it is supported and it looks like it should be with current versions of Fedora. I am not sure if the release time f16 images would support it though. But since you tried f17, that would be expected to work.
