I apologize for not answer the question you're asking. However, a friend of my had a similar request not too long ago. I told him not to bother with his idea and to simply go out and get a NAS. He was a bit tight on money but he still went out and got a low end Synology NAS with 2x3TB drives. Final cost was less than US$400. The data is available to all of his devices. Including his mobile devices. And, of course, he has RAID to minimize loss of data. -- If you can't laugh at yourself, others will gladly oblige.
